Local physiotherapist Gerhard Pienaar approached CO-UP for a complete brand identity. Firstly we had to establish a scope of requirements. We looked at the website design requirements as well as the overall brand look and feel.

The logo design was a straightforward process. The design is based around the concept of the original logo. We simply took the essence of the original logo and implemented a more modern and contemporary look.

The rest of the brand was built around the specific light blue colour, together with the basic line and simple icon. The business card design resulted in us combining darker greys with light greys. The prescription booklet followed a more traditional design process as we could not deviate too much from medical standards and practices.

The web design was a lot of fun to implement. The website is very simple, yet elegant and straightforward. From a graphic designer’s perspective this site works well. The website looks good. But the web design also works from the user’s perspective.

Once we completed the website design we started work on indexing. Indexing was a relatively easy process, but generating content proved to be a challenge. We didn’t have a lot of content to work with. Content is king for your website and its online presence. Basic copy was written and optimised for search engines.

Today the GP Physio website is one of the top results when looking for a physiotherapist in Pretoria. The physio branding was a big success story.

We were approached to redesign the logo of an existing guest farm, based in Herold by the new owners. Part of the re-branding project was to do a complete website design.

It proved to be a challenging but ultimately fulfilling task. We are proud to say that we exceeded not only the client’s expectations, but also our own. Their unique selling point is offering cooking and art courses. We incorporated this into their logo design. We also added the gables and hop farms in the logo design.

The guesthouse website design was also a challenge. But from the first presentation the client was very pleased. The guys from Social Communication did a great job indexing their website and boosting their online presence. We wanted   to promote their main selling points. The first target was to promote their guest house accommodation. From there we wanted to feature the cooking classes. Finally we added the art courses. For the rest of the website design we implemented straightforward banners to showcase what makes them great.

Digital Publishing Agency: Velocity Media approached us to design & develop their main company’s brand identity. The agency branding was a positive challenge. Velocitymedia was already an established business.

The challenge was to capture the agency branding in a manner that represents the core value of the brand.

The concept was based around the Johannesburg skyline. The other core image was a speech bubble that represents the media part of the agency. As graphic designers it was our job to merge these two core ideas. From this point we started to incorporate the brand colours.

The end result of the logo design was something that they were very happy with. We feel the logo design communicates the identity of the brand very well.

This was a fantastic project to work on. The doctor approached us to create a logo design for his established practice.

The main concept was to create an emblem that resonated with the client, something personal and unique. We created a basic visual alphabet to construct the icon. Each letter of the alphabet represents a code or specific size character. From this basic code alphabet, we isolated the ‘J’ ‘D’ ‘K’ characters in order to create and explore shapes that could be formed with them. From this point, we arranged these three shapes to form the basis of the logo design.

We wanted to have the icon of the logo be strong enough to stand on its own. This created plenty of personalised stationery opportunities. The doctor now has an established brand which looks sleek and timeless, while not conforming to any specific trends.

The icon had to be paired with a clean and simple font in order to convey the environment in which the doctor typically may find himself in, clean, clinical and precise.

This project remains one of our favourites, simply because they saw the vision we wanted to realise and trusted us to carry it out. The end-result was one that both designer and client were extremely pleased with. To date, this remains our personal favourite logo design. We are extremely satisfied with the doctor logo design.

A group of medical professionals, collectively known as Hatfield Wellness, contacted us for a brand identity and logo design for their consultation rooms as a whole. The concept for their brand identity was very simple, we wanted to design something that represented wellness: simple, elegant, clean and straightforward.

It was a very enjoyable experience to work on their logo design. To have a concept approved by 4 different practices takes some doing! But all of our clients were fantastic during the process.

A local businessman and entrepreneur contacted CO-UP to develop a brand identity along with a logo for his newly established holding company. The main concept for the brand was elegant simplicity.

The logo carries itself well without trying to be overpowering. The lower case lettering is intentional – the ‘X’ indicative of the point where 2 parties meet each other and both draw benefit. It was a real joy to work on the branding establishment of Boz X investments.

Black Canvas Architectural Interiors approached us to create their brand identity – everything from their logo to their website.

This project remains one of our favourites, not only because of the final result, but also that we were able to achieve what the client had in mind. It’s always challenging to design for fellow designers, but this helped us to better ourselves and create a flagship portfolio item.
